It was announced in February 2024 that the 76-year-old was battling cancer, for which he has since been receiving the very best treatment.

It hasn’t been revealed what type of cancer the King was diagnosed with, but he has been very vocal about the struggles of the royal family over the last two years, given that he wasn’t the only senior member suffering from the disease.

Kate Middleton also announced that she had been battling cancer in March 2024, a journey which she has since described as ‘very, very difficult.’

The King most recently spoke about his diagnosis at the opening of the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.

King Charles noted that ‘half the problem is detecting it in time’ and added of the illness: “The great thing I think is they’re getting better and better.”

But giving some solemn words of wisdom, he said: “There’s always hope down the road.”

Speaking about his own health and treatment plan, the King said: “I’m not too bad.”

Yet rumors of King Charles’ death began to circulate on social media just yesterday (October 6), as people searched the terms ‘king dead,’ ‘is king charles dead,’ and ‘is king charles still alive.’

The subject was also trending on TikTok, leaving people worried about the health of the monarch.

Additionally, there were over 20,000 searches for King Charles in the last 24 hours.

Flags across the UK were also flown at half-mast (October 3), which is sometimes put in place when a member of the royal family dies.

The British flag which flies on top of Buckingham Palace was flown at half-mast on the day the Duchess of Kent died earlier.

In a short statement to Royal News , the palace responded to the distressing rumors.

A spokesperson from Buckingham Palace said: “We would not comment on rumour or speculation of this sort.”

King Charles’ calendar is available for public view, and it seems that he hasn’t got any engagements or visits planned for the foreseeable future.
