Prince William and Kate Middleton prepare for ’emotional’ change in royal family dynamic

Home life on the Windsor Estate could soon look a lot different for the Prince and Princess of Wales.

According to royal commentators, the pair are privately preparing for a series of major changes to be thrown their way, specifically centring on their family dynamic.

The potential shift comes 15 years into Prince William and Kate Middleton’s marriage, during which they’ve welcomed three children.

Prince George was born in July 2013, two years after his parents’ elaborate Westminster Abbey nuptials. His little sister, Princess Charlotte, arrived in May 2015, and their trouble-causing younger brother, Prince Louis, came in April 2018.

Given that their eldest is soon to be a teenager, it’s expected that he’ll be shipped off to boarding school when a new term rolls around in September, following in both his father’s shoes and the shoes of his grandfather, King Charles III.

Royal experts believe George’s absence from the family home, Forest Lodge on the Windsor Estate, will mark a new chapter for William, 43, and Kate, 44.

While they’ll still have Charlotte and Louis around, it’s predicted that the change-up will give the couple their first taste of an empty nest.

“Both of them know what it was like; they both boarded, so they know how it works,” Robert Jobson told HELLO!. “William used to go to visit the late Queen and Duke of Edinburgh at Windsor while he was at Eton College, but that has to be organised.

“You can’t just pop home when you want to.”

He added of the Wales’: “They are such a tight family unit; George will be missed. It will be like having an empty seat at the table.”

Despite this, a friend of the family told the publication that having Charlotte’s 11th birthday, and Louis’ 8th, as well as their wedding anniversary, just around the corner will likely keep William and Kate distracted for the time-being.

“They’re a great example of a happy family,” they gushed. “William has always been intent on achieving that. Catherine also comes from a near-idyllic family background, what with her two amazing parents and close sibling relationships.”

The insider added: “The Prince and Princess of Wales have set a wonderful example themselves, not least in how they have brought up their children, affording them as much freedom in their growing-up years as they possibly can.”
