Suits star Patrick J. Adams has addressed the cryptic Meghan Markle reference, which is still in his Instagram bio.
Adams starred as Michael Ross on the hit drama, while the Duchess of Sussex took on the role of Rachel Zane, his love interest. Their characters ended up tying the knot onscreen.
It’s clear, however, that the pair’s lives have taken two very different paths.
Meghan was still acting on Suits when she started dating Prince Harry, who would go on to become her future husband, with many of her co-stars attending their royal wedding back in 2018.
Meghan and Harry, who share two young children together, stepped down as working senior royals in 2020 and relocated from the UK to California.
Adams recently opened up about his friendship with Meghan alongside Amanda Hirsch on a new episode of her Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, which premiered on YouTube yesterday (30 March).
During the podcast, Hirsh took the opportunity to compliment Adams’ social media bio.
For anyone not in the know, Adams’ bio reads: “the other guy from that show that you’re watching on that app because that girl married that prince.”
“I’ve got to change that,” Adams replied.
He continued, while rolling his eyes: “It’s the sort of thing that wherever Meghan is, if she’s ever read that, she’s going, ‘Patrick, give me a break’.
“I got a lot of eye rolls — that was a constant with Meghan.”
Hirsh then asked Adams if Meghan ever said anything to him about his Instagram bio, to which he responded: “No, never, but I’m sure I got an eye roll.”
Adams and his fellow Suits co-star Sarah Rafferty, who played Donna Paulsen, launched a rewatch podcast back in 2024.
Writing on a Reddit thread at the time, Adams revealed that Meghan reached out to congratulate him on the news.
“Is it weird now that your co-star is now royalty? Are you still in touch?” a fan asked, prompting Adams to admit that he and Meghan ‘are not really in touch’.
He added that she ‘leads a very different life now for obvious and important reasons’.
“Upon hearing about the podcast, I got a lovely text, saying how excited she was for us and asking how she could help in any way,” he continued, adding that it was ‘so lovely to still have that kind of support and friendship after so many years apart’
