How Prince William & Princess Catherine’s Children Are Quietly Making a Difference in Their Community

For Prince William and Princess Catherine, teaching their children about kindness has never been a one-time lesson. It is something they have woven quietly into everyday life, and it is starting to show in meaningful ways.

Back in 2023, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis joined their parents for a visit to The Baby Bank in Windsor, a local nonprofit that supports families in need by providing essential baby items. During that visit, the children spent an hour packing donations, sorting supplies, and learning firsthand how small acts can make a real difference.

Two years later, that experience clearly stayed with them. When the Wales children were recently given the opportunity to support a charity again, The Baby Bank was among the first organizations they considered. Rather than making a symbolic gesture, George (born in 2013), Charlotte (born in 2015), and Louis (born in 2018) were personally involved in choosing everyday baby essentials to donate. A member of their household staff later delivered the items to the charity on their behalf.

Speaking to HELLO! magazine, Lauren Hall, co-CEO of The Baby Bank, said the gesture meant a great deal: “For us, we’re just delighted that we popped up in their minds again,” she said, “Of all the charities they could have supported, it’s really nice to know that we were straight away on their radar. It’s lovely they remembered their visit to us.”

While Hall could not share which items were chosen, she explained that baby essentials typically include nappies, wipes, clothing, and formula, all of which are in high demand. That early visit did more than provide supplies. It helped shape how the Wales children think about giving, setting the tone for what has become an ongoing connection rather than a single charitable moment.

According to Hall, the involvement of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis extends beyond a single donation:

“They were very much engaged on that visit and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”

She told HELLO! magazine:

“And all donations go a long way, so it’s a huge help to us.”

Hall added that the charity was contacted after a school visit by Prince William, during which children were encouraged to “pay it forward.” “We were thought of as the charity to support,” she explained. The Wales children also support The Baby Bank through their school, Lambrook, which regularly donates to its community links program. That consistency, Hall believes, reflects how Prince William and Princess Catherine are raising their children. Hall stated, “The Prince and Princess are clearly very keen to get the children involved in charity work from a young age,” and continued:

“They’re setting a good example. George, Charlotte and Louis are obviously very keen to be hands on, and I think that exposure from a young age is rounding them as children.”

Hall would happily welcome another visit. She recalled how enthusiastic the children were during their pre-Christmas volunteering session in 2023: “They were really excited to help out, which was lovely,” she continued, “Charlotte seemed to quite like organising things and was very keen to do some bags for people of her own age as well as some younger, more baby ones.” Louis, she added, gravitated straight toward the toys, selecting the biggest stuffed animals with enthusiasm.

Princess Catherine first visited The Baby Bank alone in April 2023 and later returned with her children, keeping a promise she made to the charity. Hall said: “The Princess’s support is so important to us,” she continued, “That regular awareness has definitely elevated baby banks as a charity nationwide.” For the families they serve, and for the children learning the value of giving, the impact continues to grow.
