Prince William and Kate Middleton’s controversial bedroom habit divides fans

Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton’s controversial bedroom habit has left royal fans seriously divided.

Whether it’s sleeping naked, religiously abiding by the ‘Scandinavian’ sleep method or even partaking in the ‘morning shed’ – it’s clear we’re all different when it comes to our nighttime routines.

And the Royal Family are no different as the future King previously opening a little more about his and Kate’s sleeping arrangements.

Back in October 2024, William reportedly stopped to pet a well-wisher’s dog during a visit to Duchy College in Cornwall.

Louise Harland told Hits Radio Cornwall that he stroked her pooch, Jacks, and revealed to her that his family dog, a cocker spaniel named Orla, often sleeps on the bed alongside him and Kate.

“[William] said that his little dog sleeps on the bed with them at night, with him and Kate,” Louise claimed.

“[He was] absolutely in love with my little dog. He asked what breed he was and he’s never met one of those breeds, he’s a Cockerjack, so he’s a little bit of a unique combination.”

Now, some people seem to love having their four-legged furry friend curl up with them as they drift off following a long day’s work.

Others, however, couldn’t think of anything worse.

It’s a topic that has clearly divided Brits, with new data from MoneySuperMarket revealing that 44 percent of UK cat and dog owners are open to sharing their bed, many of whom reported being disturbed in the night as a result.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have been married now for 15 years, after having celebrated their anniversary last April, and currently reside at Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom home in Windsor Great Park, which became their ‘forever home’ in late 2025.

The couple, along with their three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, moved from Adelaide Cottage, also in Windsor, to be closer to their children’s school and offer more privacy away from London’s intense media focus.

A royal source told the BBC: “Windsor has become their home. However, over the last few years, while they have lived at Adelaide Cottage, there have been some really difficult times.

“Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter.”

“It’s an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind,” the source added, referencing the challenging 18 months that saw Kate deal with a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
