A photo of King Charles III and Queen Camilla with their guests Donald and Melania Trump has gone viral online – and people are finding it hilarious.

The American President and First Lady are in the UK for a two-day long state visit, spending time with the British royals at Windsor Castle.

Trump has also shifted his attention to politics and today met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Chequers, while Melania spent time with Camilla and Kate Middleton.

However, the photo in question that people simply cannot get over was taken (Wednesday 17 September), while the four were viewing items on display during a visit to the Royal Collection exhibition, in the castle’s Green Drawing Room.

In the bizarre snap, the King and Queen are enthusiastically looking around and chatting to Trump, while Melania is standing slightly away from them with her very large hat covering her face.

The hat paired with her all-black outfit makes for quite the image, with the First Lady slightly blending in with her surroundings.

Royal family fans have of course rushed to social media to share their thoughts on the striking image, which has quickly gone viral on social media.

She’s so far been compared to a lamp, coat rack, spy, Beyoncé, and everything in between.

Taking to Reddit, one person shared the snap alongside the caption: “Why is Melania standing there like a fashionable grim reaper?”

A second added: “So accurate. I didn’t even realise it was a person until I spotted the hands!”

While a third agreed: “I was thinking I was crazy and everyone was in on some secret that I didn’t understand because I really didn’t see the lurking shadow in the corner until I read the comments and zoomed in on the picture.”

Others hilariously chimed in with “She looks like a lamp” and “My first thought was a robot in off-mode.”

While someone else compared her to ‘Beyoncé in that one part of Formation’ – a comparison that’s actually been made before, as Melania is known to be a fan of a big hat.

“It took me a minute to see her,” pointed out another Redditor, while someone else added: “She looks like 3 raccoons in a trench coat.”

Understandably, people are finding the photo hysterical, with someone writing: “Actually hilarious how ridiculous this looks” and another adding: “I burst out laughing because it really is so ridiculous.”

“I haven’t laughed out loud at something on the internet in a long time but this made me audibly laugh,” agreed someone else.

While another user wrote: “I looked at the photo and I did not see Melania. I thought it was a coat and hat rack.”

It comes as earlier today, Melania spent the morning with Camilla, visiting the Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House inside Windsor Castle.

Then, she headed out on a joint engagement with the Princess of Wales to meet with 20 Squirrel Scouts taking part in nature activities to earn their Go Wild badges.

Kate also organised a special packed lunch for the children, aged four to five, which contained sandwiches made with honey from Anmer Hall, her Norfolk home.

And Melania gave the little ones a jar of White House honey each.
