Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson are gearing themselves up for one last Christmas at Royal Lodge before they are made to vacate their home. The King stripped Andrew of his titles and gave him his marching orders during the continuing fallout from his relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

A source has revealed: “He is struggling to come to terms with his loss of status and Lodge staff and visitors must still tug the forelock. Some don’t realise he still thinks he’s a prince.” During previous years, Sarah and Andrew sent Christmas cards to family and friends by the dozen, the Daily Mail reports, however, Sarah, it is understood, has been signing her cards alone.
Those addressed to members of the Royal Family have been accompanied by a gushing personalised apology for her part in the fall of the House of York, including the message: “I hope we’ll meet again.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry are currently away on family leave with their son Archie. The Sussex family will be spending the festive break with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, after celebrating the last two Christmases with the Royal Family. 2017 marked a special year for Meghan as, after she became engaged to Harry in November, the Queen extended a unique Christmas invitation to her. Channel 5 documentary “Sandringham: The Queen at Christmas” took a look at the festive occasion.

The documentary narrator explained: “This year she’s the first non-royal to appear on the Christmas guest-list.

Normally, only Royal Family members, and their wives and husbands, are invited for the whole three-day break at Sandringham, so the Queen’s invitation to Harry’s then-fiancée Meghan was special.”

Channel 5 News royal correspondent Simon Vigar said: “To be at Sandringham at Christmas is the inner, inner circle.

“Normally you don’t get invited unless you’ve already married into the family Firm.

“So, for Meghan to be at Sandringham this Christmas is exceptional.

“And also, I think, a sign of how the monarchy is changing and modernising.”

Biographer Ingrid Seward explained: “Before they were married, Kate didn’t spend Christmas at Sandringham.

“But then, Kate has a big and very warm family of her own.

“Before Mike Tindall married Zara Phillips, he didn’t go there, but again he has his own parents [in the UK].

“The situation for Meghan is slightly different because she doesn’t have her family here.”

Royal author Claudia Joseph continued: ”Her mother is in LA, her father is in Mexico.

“Now Harry and Meghan are living together, Harry will have wanted to make sure she’s looked after at Christmas.
