Queen Consort Camilla wore a modern version of her wedding dress last week during her recent appearance in Rome alongside her husband, King Charles III.

Many royal fans haven’t stopped talking about Camilla’s all-black ensemble she wore to meet Pope Leo XIV for the celebration of the 2025 Jubilee Year for the Catholic Church on Thursday (23 October) but another one of her outfits may have also sparked some chatter online after evoking memories of her wedding gown.

As Camilla and Charles arrived at St. Paul’s Basilica for a historic Service of Prayer with her pristine ensemble marking a striking departure from the previous outfit she had worn the previous day, and bore a clear resemblance to the dress she wore nearly two decades ago when she wed the the-prince.

For the second day of the state visit to the Holy See, Camilla opted for an ivory Anna Valentine couture coatdress – a timeless design by the same label behind her 2005 wedding attire.

It featured a simple white dress beneath a structured overcoat with the slightly off-white outer layer adorned with delicate silver threading.

Additionally, intricate floral motifs were woven into the lapels and down the front pleats of the skirt, along with a subtle embroidered detail cinching the waist.

The garment’s long sleeves ended just above the wrists and also featured the same silver accents.

Camilla completed the look with a matching white clutch featuring a gold clasp, as well as carrying a clear umbrella with a black trim.

While it may not have been an exact replica, the Rome ensemble clearly paid tribute to the outfit Camilla wore for her wedding to Charles two decades back.

Charles and Camilla were married on 9 April 2005 in a civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall, followed by a religious blessing at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, led by Archbishop Rowan Williams.

Both Charles and Camilla were divorced, having previously been wed to Princess Diana and Andrew Parker Bowles, which influenced the choice of a civil ceremony.

The wedding was initially scheduled for 8 April but was postponed due to Pope John Paul II’s funeral. The ceremony was attended by close family and friends, including Prince William and Harry.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip did not attend the civil ceremony but joined the chapel service and hosted a reception at Windsor Castle.

Camilla became HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, opting not to use the title Princess of Wales.
