Kim Kardashian finally reveals why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry photos were deleted after Kris Jenner’s party

It’s been over two months and still, fans of the Sussexes have been wondering why exactly Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were removed from Kris Jenner’s collection of birthday snaps.

Thankfully, however, we have the much-loved momager’s own daughter Kim Kardashian on hand to spill the long awaited tea.

For those who missed it, Kris celebrated her 70th birthday back in November during a lavish, James Bond 007-themed party at her home, in the company of some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Not only did this include her five Kardashian-Jenner daughters Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie, but she also invited the likes of Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Mark Zuckerberg, and Adele.

Also in attendance were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were seen enjoying the festivities in a snap the reality TV matriarch shared online.

Within minutes, Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, were savagely slammed for their attendance. Around the same time, the photo of the royal couple – who wed in 2018 – on Kris’ profile was mysteriously taken down, sparking theories of major beef behind the scenes.

“Probably because they saw H/M getting attacked by hyper obsessed psychos,” one fan suggested in response to the revelation.

Another wondered: “Maybe couple asked not to be posted??”

As we say, however, following months of speculation, another big-name attendee has finally spoken out; Kim K herself.

Appearing on sister Khloe Kardashian’s Khloe in Wonderland podcast this week, the 45-year-old reflected on what nosy onlookers have since described as ‘Photogate’, claiming the removal of the Sussexes’ photos was ‘really innocent’.

“Mom and Meghan have been friends for some years now, and they have a really sweet relationship,” Kim began.

She added that, in the days after the Los Angeles get-together, Kris and her team were going through their collection of professional photos to decide which images to upload online.

“We were told that it was totally cool to post,” the mother-of-four continued. “And then after it was posted, I think they realised it was Remembrance Day, and they didn’t want to be seen at a party, even though it’s already up, you know, and then taken down.

“And then I think they realized, like, ‘Oh, this was so silly.’ ”

As a reminder, Remembrance Day marks an annual commemoration of the British lives lost while serving in the two World Wars. As monarch, Harry’s father King Charles III led this year’s memorial at the Cenotaph on Whitehall, London.

Confirming her awareness that Meghan and Harry had also attended a Baby2Baby charity gala earlier that night – which she says ‘was fine’ – she added that the couple’s critics mightn’t be thrilled to see them ‘partying and dancing on the dance floor or whatever’.

“So we took them down to respect Remembrance Day,” the SKIMS boss continued.

Kim went on to reflect: “You got to laugh at, like, the situation sometimes and just, like, lighten it up and be if everyone’s taking it the wrong way, like, lean in. I was like, ‘We should do a full SKIMS campaign.’

“Take the photo – even just us, like, I’ll shoot you at mom, you know, post it and then delete it, like, 30 minutes later. And then I say, ‘Oh, sorry, I didn’t have permission to post those photos for the campaign’.

“If we just made it light and made it funny, you know, I think it would have been, like, received differently, but I hated how that was received for everyone.”

Of the colossal criticism the Sussexes receives, she added: “That sucks. It was just made into something that was so crazy and ridiculous that just didn’t have to be.”
