People only found out Queen’s real name and job after seeing her death certificate

The British Royal family and their many names has been a point of confusion for years now.

For one, Prince Harry’s real name actually not being Harry at all and instead being Henry has left some people absolutely mind-blown.

Not to mention his wife Meghan expressing how ‘important’ it is to her go by the surname ‘Sussex’ now, rather than her maiden name ‘Markle,’ as she loves it being something to share with her husband and children.

And as it turns out, people only found out Queen Elizabeth II’s real name and official job title when it was revealed by her death certificate after she passed away on September 8, 2022.

When her death certificate was released to the world, it revealed that the district of her death was as Aberdeenshire, while the cause was ‘old age’.

Also in the paperwork was something you don’t see often – her full name. In fact, some people didn’t even think she had a full name at all.

But like anyone else, of course she did, and it was listed as Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor.

One social media user reacted with: “Oh wow, I always thought officially the Queen didn’t have a last name. So weird to see it on a document like this.”

While a second person over on Reddit added: “That finally solves it her majesty’s last name was Windsor.”

And a third chimed in with: “I legit didn’t know she had a last name lol.”

And it wasn’t just her name that left people baffled, but also her job title too, not that you’d imagine the Queen herself would have one.

But officially, her ‘occupation’ was listed in the document as: ‘Her Majesty the Queen’.

One Twitter user wrote: “It’s really weird actually reading the Queen’s death certificate. It’s so stark and informative only. Like NAME: Elizabeth, OCCUPATION: Queen…just strange.”

While others made light of the situation, writing: “If my occupation doesn’t have the word ‘Queen’ in it on my death cert I’ll haunt you all” and “The occupation is sending me”.

And a third and fourth penned: “Occupation: Just being me, babes” and “Never knew being a Queen was an occupation.”

“Occupation: Her Majesty The Queen… I guess that does pretty much cover it,” wrote someone else.

On 8 September, marked the third anniversary of the Queen’s death, with members of the royal family paying tribute in different ways.

Prince Harry, who was back in the UK for a charity event, travelled to her tomb in the King George VI Memorial Chapel within Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel and laid down a wreath and flowers as he paid his respects.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate Middleton visited the National Federation of Women’s Institutes in tribute to the late Queen’s decades-long association with the organisation.

William told some of the guests: “It’s three years since my grandmother died, she was a big part of the WI, she used to talk about it a lot. This is the first time I’ve been, and experienced the WI, so this is a huge honour for me.”

He asked for members’ memories of the late Queen and later told them “can’t believe it’s three years – goes quite quick”, and they chatted about his grandmother’s passion for horses and horse breeding.

The Prince of Wales said: “I think she would have liked a few more winners,” then told the members his grandmother had “an old iPad” she would use to watch her foals being born via a remote camera, adding “a lot of foals were born at Sandringham”.
