Royal Family raise ‘concerns’ after spotting major change in Andrew and Sarah Fergsuon

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson have seen a plummet from public life in recent months after more details about their relationship with Jeffrey Epstein emerged

Royal author Robert Jobson has claimed that some members of the Royal Family may be concerned about the mental health of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson as their descent from public life continues.

2025 has seen Andrew stripped of his royal titles, prince prefix, and removed from Royal Lodge, while several charities have cut their ties with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson over the pair’s association with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has consistently denied all allegations of wrongdoing since the scandal emerged several years ago.

The controversy has centred around Andrew’s continued contact with Epstein, and how it differed from claims he made during his disastrous interview with Emily Maitlis at the end of the 2010s.

When asked how Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were holding up following the latest round of reports on The Sun’s YouTube channel, royal author Robert said: “Not very well don’t think. I think even members of the Royal Family who have taken action are concerned about both their mental health.

“I think that, most of all, you’ve got to be concerned about the victims of the Epstein scandal, and that to me is the biggest worry. They’re human beings; a lot has been taken away.”

Earlier this week, it was reported that the former Duke of York could be set to lose yet another honour: the Freedom of the City of London. The historic privilege allows recipients to carry a ceremonial sword and drive sheep across London Bridge.

It has been suggested that Andrew received the honour because his father, Prince Philip, was a Freeman of the City of London.

The Sun reported that a spokesperson for the City of London Corporation said: “Andrew received the honour by virtue of patrimony, which is inherited as the child of a Freeman.

“Applications via patrimony are not considered by our elected members. The City Corporation is listening, and will continue to listen, to concerns raised. And it will carefully consider the rules that govern how a Freedom is given — and the circumstances in which, and procedure by which, it can be removed.”

Meanwhile, Andrew has also faced criticism from US lawmakers after failing to respond to a request to appear before the US Congress as it continues its probe into Epstein.

Members of the House Oversight Committee had originally requested an interview with Andrew regarding his relationship with Epstein. The Daily Express reported that, after receiving no response from Andrew by November, Democrats Suhas Subramanyam and Robert Garcia accused the disgraced royal of hiding.

In a statement, they said: “Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s silence in the face of the Oversight Democrats’ demand for testimony speaks volumes.
